Pearl Bay is a spacious Chinese restaurant located on Boscell Road in Fremont, known for its sizable dining room that easily accommodates larger groups and family gatherings. The bright, clean interior creates a practical setting that feels suitable for milestone celebrations like weddings or birthday dinners, as well as more casual weekend dim sum outings.

The menu offers an extensive range of Cantonese dishes, with dim sum standing out as a favored reason to visit. Items like their turnip (daikon) cake, water chestnut cake, and deep-fried taro dumplings consistently draw positive attention, especially because these particular offerings are less common elsewhere. Diners can also expect well-prepared traditional delights such as shrimp dumplings (蝦餃), roasted char siu bao, and honey walnut shrimp, alongside a solid variety of steamed seafood and wok-fried options.

The experience often attracts local families and groups who appreciate both the generous portions and the attentive, if occasionally brisk, service. It’s a place where elders and younger generations can comfortably come together, sharing familiar dishes in a setting that's busy but not rushed early in the day. Weekend mornings bring a steady stream of dim sum lovers, with orders arriving at a good pace, though some longer waits for specialty items like roasted duck have been noted, suggesting patience is needed during peak times.

Price-wise, Pearl Bay lands in the mid-to-upper range relative to nearby dim sum spots, reflecting its scale and quality ingredients. The restaurant maintains a well-stocked beverage menu featuring familiar sodas and fresh juices to complement the meal.

Overall, Pearl Bay suits those looking for a reliable, roomy location to enjoy classic Cantonese fare with family or larger parties, especially on weekends when dim sum is at its best. It’s the kind of place that fits well into Fremont’s diverse dining scene, balancing tradition with a clean, no-frills environment where the food quality remains front and center.

This place used to be called Asian Pearl and is changed to Pearl Bay. Inside is big and bright, suitable for any Chinese events such as weddings. Food is decent. The Turnip (Daikon) Cake (Lo Bak Go), Water Chestnut cake and the Taro cakes are all excellent. Not all the dim sum restaurants have the water chestnut cake and taro ones, this is one of the places that serve them and make them very well. Their black sesame rolls are good too. It is hard to find at other Chinese restaurants too. Their lettuce with garlic is great. Their steamed dim sum (such as Har Gow or anything with the white skins outside) isn't as good. The outside skins are thick and they are supposed to be thin. The Fung Jao (chicken feet) are also so-so, not tender enough. I have had better elsewhere. The fried chicken wings are disappointing. The bathroom is not that clean. Wish they keep it in much better shape considering the restaurant's dining area is so nice and elegant.

We two arrived around 11 on Saturday and were seated right away. Dim sum was served in timely manner and really tasty. We waited the roasted duck a bit too long that we even considered canceling it. The food quality was good, and the service was fast; although the price was matching the Koi Palace, which meant a little high.

Simply the best Chinese restaurant in the east bay. My grandparents love to come here, and the food is always very tasty, with family sized portions. It’s a huge restaurant that is pretty fancy with good service too. Highly recommended!

5 tables of 10 each. Banquet menu with about 9 dishes. Food and service was very good. Winter melon soup was tasty but could have been temperature hotter. All other dishes were well executed. Recommended!

Have been enjoying this dim sum gem for several years now when visiting family in the Bay Area, and it is unquestionably the most delicious I have had the privilege of encountering. I say this having grown up in Flushing, Queens and living in both Mainland China (and Hong Kong) for over twenty years since. I have been eating dim sum weekly for probably 45 years or more. I have been to Michelin rated dim sum restaurants and the most famous/notable eateries in both NYC and San Francisco. Pearl Bay is hands down my favorite. It has a really extensive choice of dishes. The food is fresh and uses some really high quality ingredients. My only (small) criticism is the quality of the hot sauce, which I prefer mixed with red bean paste rather than sriracha. But next time I may bring my own. This place is perfect for large parties. You can make reservations too, so why are you waiting?! And the staff are lovely, both friendly, quick and accommodating. Will gladly look forward to returning at some point in the future. Thank you (again) Pearl Bay!

Great food. A little noisy the day I was there because of a wedding banquet on the main room and several Birthday gatherings where my party was seated

Pearl Bay Restaurant is one of the better dim sum restaurants I like in the Bay area. Most dim sums are better than average, but they're pricy. I guess you get what you paid for, which is true most of the time. The service is good compared to the average Chinese restaurant. The dining room is new and comfortable, with lots of noise, as all the dim sum restaurants do. The parking lot is clean and safe. I feel very comfortable to park my car there.
